Concerning Leaving Comments

Let me make one suggestion. If you want to leave a comment, please leave me your name and /or e-mail address in the body of the message also, that is unless you intentionally want to remain anonymous. Anonymous comments are okay if this is the intention of the person sending it. I get several comments, but I have no idea who they come from and I cannot respond to the comment, since I do not automatically receive the address of the sender. I would appreciate it.

Reunion Pictures

I am finally getting around to posting a few reunion pictures. There are only a few, since I cannot yet get permission from everyone to post their picture. I have tried unsuccessfully to get permission to post pictures of a few more people, but until I do this will be the only picures posted. Daisy Murray traveled from Washington State to be at the reunion. While she was here she got to see an aunt that she had not seen since she was a small girl. She also got to meet my aunt, Eureva Self. Daisy and Eureva had talked many times on the telephone, but had never met until September 17, when I took Daisy to Eureva's house fo a visit. Daisy also met several cousins at the reunion in Maryville, TN. She is pictured with cousin Calberta Self Best at the top.

National Guard Troops To Be Home For Thanksgiving

" They have been assured they will be eating Thanksgiving turkey at home", said Kaye Butler, president of the Family Readiness Group operating out of the Sweetwater, Tennessee Armory. Butler's comments were made recently to The Democrat, a Monroe County, TN newspaper. Cousin Jeff Butler, Kaye's husband, is one of about 100 guard soldiers who departed for training in June 2004 before going to Iraq later that year. The troops are most likely to re-enter the United States at Camp Shelby, Mississippi and go through a debriefing period for several days before returning to their hometowns.

"Butler will be working with local officials to plan a homecoming celebration for the soldiers when they get back. She said the troops could return at different times so a way will have to be worked out to give each of the men a good welcome home."
