LILLIE PEARL LEE SELF GEDDINGS OBITUARY

LILLIE PEARL LEE SELF GEDDINGS age 79, of West Knoxville, native of Monroe County, daughter of the late Harrison Cicero Self and Lizzie Cottrell Self Hawkins, went to be with the Lord Sunday, September 11, 2011. She was a long-time faithful member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church. Pearl retired from UTIA in 1993. She was also preceded in death by husband, Daniel A. Geddings, Jr.; step-father, Lloyd Hawkins; sister, Bonnie Mae Self Case; brother, Samuel Douglas Self. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Connie Diane Geddings and fiancé, Samuel S. Stalcup, Jr.; brothers and sister-in-law, Jake and Peggy Self of Madisonville, Frank Self of Knoxville; sisters and brother-in-law, Faye Strickland of Madisonville, Lula Burnette of Maynardville, Nellie Hawkins of Greenback, and Helen and William Gibby of Hermitage, Tennessee; special brother/nephew, Samuel Self, Jr. and wife Evelyn of Knoxville; niece, Sarah Self Bledsoe of Madisonville; many other nephews and nieces; special friends, Norma and Don Huddleston and Lucille Knight; her beloved pets, Daffy, Angel and Oreo. A special thanks to Brakebill Nursing Home for their wonderful care in her last few weeks. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Monday at Rocky Hill Baptist Church followed by a service at 7:00 P.M. with Dr. Terry Kirby officiating. The family and friends will meet Tuesday at Citico Cemetery, Vonore, Monroe County for an 11:00 A.M. graveside service. SELF FAMILY REUNION SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24

It's that time of year again... yes "it's football time in Tennessee". You are right, but it is also time for something else. The 26th annual Self Family Reunion will be Saturday, September 24 at the Pearson Springs Rotary Pavilion in Maryville, Tennessee. The pavilion is on Montvale Station Road. We will begin gathering around 3p.m. and share a covered dish meal around 4 p.m. Directions: on Hwy. 411 N. in Maryville, turn right at the Exxon station onto Sandy Springs Road. Pass Foothills School, turn left onto Montvale Station Road. Go approximately 1/2 mile. The pavilion entrance is on the left, just before Sandy Springs Park.
