LULA P. SELF BURNETTE OBITUARY

Mrs. Lula P. Burnette, age 92 of Luttrell, Tennessee, a native of Monroe County went to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, February 18, 2015.She was a faithful member of Ailordale Baptist Church and was a retired employee of the University of Tennessee since 1989. Lula was the daughter of the late Harrison Cicero Self and Lizzie Cottrell Self Hawkins; also preceded in death by husband; John C. Burnette; step-father, Lloyd Hawkins; sisters; Blonnie Mae Self, Lillie Pearl Lee Self Geddings, Faye Self Strickland, Helen Marie Self Gibby; brother, Samuel Douglas Self; sister-in-law, Peggy Moses Self; grandson, Christopher Burnette. Survivors: sons: Harry Burnette and wife: Karon of Clinton; Larry Burnette and wife: Tina, two-granddaughters; Kaitlyn and Stephanie Burnette, all of Luttrell. Brothers: Frank Self, Knoxville; Jake Self, Madisonville; sister, Nellie Self Hawkins, Greenback; brother-in-law, William Gibby, Nashville; sister-in-law: Lennis Self, Knoxville; special brother, Samuel Self, Jr. and wife: Evelyn; special niece, Connie Geddings Reese; several other nieces, nephews and other family members. The family would like to express their special thanks to Anna Todd and staff at Tender Loving Care of Maynardville for their special care given during the past five years. Due to weather conditions, the family will receive friends 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 with funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Calvin Headrick officiating. Interment will follow at Ailordale Cemetery, Maynardville. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville, TN.
