STEVEN JAMES SELF OBITUARY


SELF, STEVEN JAMES, age 62, of Sweetwater, TN, passed away 10:20 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015.  He was a graduate of Sweetwater High School. He was last employed by Tarasport where he was a professional painter. Steve enjoyed fishing, restoring antique cars, playing Rook, gardening and watching football. He also loved watching western movies. Preceded in death by son, Jay Self, parents, Doc Self and Mary Ellen Yates Logan, brother, Phil Self, Sr. Survivors: wife, Kathleen Raper; daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Roy Rodgers, Madisonville, Beverly and Ed Couch, of Dayton; sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher Hood (Self), of Sweetwater, Jessie and Joan Raper, of Madisonville; grandchildren, Ashley Rodgers,  Andrew Raper, Leighanna Raper, all of Madisonville, Raymond Couch, Michael Couch, of Dayton;  sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Sue West, of Vonore, Josephine Darlene Morrow, of Vonore, Pat and Bobby Leming, of Madisonville, Carol McDonald, of Sweetwater, Robin Bowers, of Loudon, brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Angel Self, of Texas, David and Judy Self, of Sweetwater, Jeff and Emme Self, of Spring City; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his best friend, Randall Cooper. Funeral 8:00 p.m. Saturday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Allen Watson officiating. Interment 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Mt. Zion Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, TN.
