It is primarily for information pertaining to the SELF surname, more particularly for descendants of John J. and Lydia Avaline Waters Self, who were married in Union County, GA in 1851. Barry Self is the SELF proclaimed family genealogist and historian, having spent over 20 years researching this Self line. A SELF FAMILY PICTURE


This picture was given to me by the late Berlin Self. Left to right is Sara Self, holding her son, William (Bill) Self. Bill was born August 12, 1935, so this helps us to date this picture. Next to Sara is her husband, Onie Self and his mother, Lillie Self, wife of J.R. Sherman Self. Dessie Self is next and then Burt Self is on the end. Dessie and Burt are two more children of Lillie Self.
