It is primarily for information pertaining to the SELF surname, more particularly for descendants of John J. and Lydia Avaline Waters Self, who were married in Union County, GA in 1851. Barry Self is the SELF proclaimed family genealogist and historian, having spent over 20 years researching this Self line. COOPER, ERSIE CORDELIA, age 92, of Vonore, TN, widow of Lee Willard Cooper, went home to be with her Lord 5:10 a.m. Sunday, September 15, 2013 at home. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Preceded in death by infant son, Randy Lee Cooper; granddaughter, Sharon Butler; parents, Emery and Mary Self; sisters, Bessie Bibee and Lucy Hill; brothers, Lawson and Bill Self. She is survived by 8 children; daughters and spouses, Shirley and John Butler, of Madisonville, Peggy and Alvin Thomas, Lovonda and Jim Fowler, of Vonore, Darlene and Roberts Russell, of Loudon; sons and spouses, Ronnie and Molly Cooper, Reece and Cindy Cooper, of Madisonville, Randall and Donnie Cooper, of Vonore; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews; her church family and the caring staff of Amedisys Hospice of Sweetwater. Funeral 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Rev. Dennis Robinson, Rev. John Butler, Rev. Tommy Self officiating. Interment 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Mt. Zion Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, TN.
