PICTURE GALLERY 8 FOR "MOUNTAIN MEMORIES"

The picture above is one of John Allen Ellis on the left, Edd Barrett and an unidentified man on the right as identified on the back of the photo. John Ellis married Dovie Self on November 30, 1913. They had a daughter, Mamye Ellis, who married Garfield Butler. John is buried at Coker Creek Cemetery in Coker Creek (Tellico Plains), Tennessee. He was born August 17, 1866 in Cherokee County, NC and died November 2, 1955 I have been told. I also have a photo of his tombstone. Dovie Self was also married to Allen Butler and Sam Miller before she married John Ellis. Dovie and Mr. Butler had sons Obie, Howard and Alvin Butler. Dovie and Mr. Miller had a son Ernest Simpson Miller. Mildred Miller Thomas wrote about John Ellis, etc. on page 8 of "Mountain Memories".
