It is primarily for information pertaining to the SELF surname, more particularly for descendants of John J. and Lydia Avaline Waters Self, who were married in Union County, GA in 1851. Barry Self is the SELF proclaimed family genealogist and historian, having spent over 20 years researching this Self line. PICTURE GALLERY 9 FOR "MOUNTAIN MEMORIES"


The picture above is supposedly of Lloyd Self and _____? Miller. It is a good example of the horses that were used during the Babcock Lumber Co. days in the mountains of Tellico Plains. Mildred Thomas wrote about how horses and mules were used in harvesting the timber on page 16 of "Mountain Memories". I believe Loyd Self is on the left.
