RICKY ALLEN SELF, SR. OBITUARY

Ricky Allen Self, Sr. , age 54, of Englewood, Tennessee, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at a local hospital. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a construction roofer for several years and was of the Baptist faith. He loved being outdoors, especially in the mountains, and enjoyed being around his family and friends. He is survived by his children, Keesha Raper of Madisonville, Rebecca Baldwin and husband Travis of Etowah, Ricky Self, Jr. and wife Michelle of Riceville, and Rocky Self and wife Rebecca of Athens; parents, William Millard Self and Betty Jo Martin; sister, Drenda Lankford and husband Ricky of Etowah; brothers, Steven Martin and wife Kathy of Etowah, Tony Self and wife Shirley of Cleveland, and Chris Self of Englewood. Several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and close friends also survive. Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 7pm Thursday, January 23, 2014, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home. Interment will be private. VERLIN JACK BYERS, JR. OBITUARY

BYERS, VERLIN JACK, JR., age 87, of Sweetwater,TN, passed away 11:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at Sweetwater Hospital. He attended Vonore Full Gospel Church. Preceded in death by wife, Callie Byrum Byers; parents, Jack Gaston Byers and Dovie Self Byers; sisters, Gracie Chapman, Nettie Beavers, Emma Sue Byers, Dolly Lynn; brothers, Vernon Byers, Dewey Byers and Clarence Byers. Survivors: daughters, Mary Snowden, of Athens, Debra Ann Priest, Englewood, Misty Winkler, Tellico Plains, Glenda Sue Byers, of Sweetwater, Wanda Mae Boggess, Athens, Elisha Jane Hale, Cleveland; sons, Bobby Byers, Madisonville, Wayne Byers, Etowah, Ricky Byers, Greenback; 15 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Moses, Athens, Katie Davis, Coker Creek, Ruby Stanley, Dahlonega, GA, Alice Roberts, Tellico Plains, several nieces and nephews. Graveside service 4:00 p.m. Monday, Giles Cemetery, Rev. Jarvis Bivens officiating. Family and friends need to assemble by 3:15 p.m. Monday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Tellico Plains for the procession to the cemetery.

Fred Lester Self, age 92, of Maryville, TN passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Asbury Place. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wanda Self, and several nieces and nephews. HELEN MARIE GIBBY OBITUARY

Helen Marie Gibby, age 76, passed away January 12, 2014. A resident of Hermitage, Tennessee for over 45 years and of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother. Survived by husband, Bill Gibby; daughter, Michelle Reynolds (Greg); son, John Gibby (DeDe); grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew and Zachary Gibby, Amanda and Bryan Reynolds; 2 sisters and 2 brothers; special nephew, Sam Self. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Hermitage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
